Animal Kingdom is an Australian crime drama starring Ben Mendelsohn, Joel Edgerton, Guy Pearce, Jacki Weaver, James Frecheville, Luke Ford and Sullivan Stapleton. It premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition on January 22, 2010 and won the Grand Jury Prize. It also scored Jacki Weaver an Oscar nomination for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role at the 2011 Academy Awards.
